Ce jeudi 30 mars, les jeunes de la MJC Les Fleurs à Pau ont eu le plaisir de recevoir deux athlètes breakdanceurs d’exception. Jacob « Kujo » Lyons, sélectionneur de la Team USA pour les JO 2024 et pionnier de la discipline, et Grace « Sunny » Choi, B-Girl américaine qui participera aux Olympiades de Paris, sont venus à la rencontre de ces jeunes danseurs pour partager avec eux leurs expériences, transmettre leur passion et les valeurs universelles du « break ».

The Athens Comics Library and the U.S. Mission to Greece teamed up with U.S. soccer stars, Tara Koleski and Jennifer Grubb to empower women and defeat discrimination. On November 8,9 and 10 2022 the American players visited civil society organizations that use soccer as a platform for social development, youth academies, schools and training centers in Athens and Thessaloniki. The U.S. Department of State’s Sports Diplomacy promotes cross-cultural understanding and empowers the next generation of leaders through the Sports Envoy Program.

What an amazing week! Together with Sports Diplomacy, we were pleased to bring former NBA basketball legend Sam Perkins and current women’s professional player Kirby Burkholder to Albania to celebrate the 100th anniversary of U.S.-Albanian relations! It was an unforgettable week welcoming the Jr. NBA to Albania, visiting with youth groups in Tirana, Durres, and Shkoder and bringing everyone #TogetherThroughSports! Our thanks to all of our partners for their support of the program: American Corner Tirana, University of Sports, Schools as Community Centers in Kashar and Shkoder, the Goga Academy, Special Olympics Albania, ARKA Youth Center, and Vllaznia. Our special thanks to the National Basketball Federation and New Vision for their support. Just like in basketball, it took a great team to make this program possible. Through our Sports Envoy program, Sam and Kirby demonstrated how important teamwork is to success, but also inclusion and youth empowerment to improve lives and strengthen our communities.
